AMTD Foundation and AMTD Group are the first batch to make two million dollars donations, and simultaneously purchasing medical supplies from around the world to assist Hubei Province to fight against the epidemic of novel coronavirus and support the community in Hong Kong to prevent the epidemic

Recently, AMTD Foundation and AMTD Group have decided to make the first batch of RMB 2 million donations to the Red Cross Society of Hubei Province. At the same time, AMTD Group has leveraged the team’s expatriate members in Japan, Europe and other countries to purchase medical supplies abroad, and to fight against the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in Hubei Province and support the Hong Kong community.

The Wuhan epidemic has affected the emotion of every AMTD members. Even though we are in Hong Kong, our compatriots in Hong Kong have always been deeply attached to the motherland. Hong Kong people will join hands with our mainland compatriots to fight against this epidemic and conquer the battle against the novel coronavirus with our faith, confidence and concrete actions. AMTD Foundation and AMTD Group have decided to make the first batch of RMB 2 million donations to the Red Cross Society of Hubei Province. Meanwhile, leveraging the opportunity of the recent-concluded World Economic Forum's 50th Annual Meeting of Davos, AMTD Group quickly formatted a team which composed expatriate members from Switzerland, Germany, Japan and other places, to contribute its respective resource advantages from various regions, to search for scarce medical supplies and resources around the world, and to relieve the problem of medical supplies shortage in the epidemic areas of Hubei Province through compliance channels and in accordance with relevant specifications. In addition, AMTD foundation will also distribute anti-epidemic supplies such as masks to Hong Kong community residents and company employees in supporting the Hong Kong community with those in needs.
